Raven Maria Blanco Foundation, Inc.  [RMBF] was started with the intent of motivating all proceeds to help children around the globe. Although we have many projects in the works our main goal is to protect all pediatric dental patients.

RMBF is working with Drs. Larry Sangrik, John Roberson and Chris Rothman, to bring a Continuing Education Memorial Lecture to the dental community in an effort to reduce the amount of unprepared reactions to medical emergencies. Drs. John Roberson and Chris Rothman are co-founders of the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness [IMEP] and developed the “Six Links of Survival” as a teaching tool for dentists. Since 1999 Dr. Sangrik has nationally lectured over 7500 dental professionals on the topic of medical emergencies occurring in dental offices. Together we believe that we can better prepare dentists and their staff on how to handle emergency situations.

On the public level RMBF is working with Dr. Ellie Phillips, DDS author of Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye.  We are supporting Ellie’s regimen because RMBF believes in promoting alternative ways in which people can care for their teeth in order to keep their dental visits healthy visits. Let’s face it children who are free from tooth decay are less likely to require sedation. We are in the process of developing a national tour that will begin in Virginia in late February. We want to teach parents and children about Xylitol and how it can aid in oral hygiene.

Besides our main focus, which is protecting pediatric dental patients, we have a local, national and international project underway. Locally we are providing tooth-fairy comfort pillows to dentist offices, so they can give them out to their pediatric patients. Nationally we are collecting supplies to put together backpacks to give to the children whose parents lost their jobs due to the Gulf Coast oil spill. Internationally we are helping at-risk, orphaned children in South Africa by providing them with a safe place to play, learn, and grow.

Our Inaugural Charity Masquerade Ball is the first step in bringing our goals to fruition. It cannot be done alone! We need the help and support of any and all who are moved by our plight. Together we will transform lives; however, it is we who will be most in awe of the rewards we find in our giving. Join us in our journey to the margins. In this space, dreams soar to realization.
